Drawn
to non-places and ideas of the Other, I use the practice of walking
and chance encounters as playful embodied explorations of space. I
am interested in the details of the everyday we overlook and the transitional
state of space. The city of Plymouth provides the foundation to my
practice: how we interact with it spatially, mentally and through
the body. We affect the spaces we encounter and they affect us. Although
predominantly working in digital media as a means of collating subject
matter, I adopt a multi-disciplinary approach in order to make sense
of the journeys I take, underpinning my ideas with reading of theories
on space, gender, architecture and embodiment.
