Photography is a powerful tool that captures moments that now belong to the past. It can serve to trigger our recollections and remind us of something that once existed. My work is an exploration of memory and domestic photography. I create images that reflect the collective worth of family photographs and the complexity of human memory. It is my view that photographs are something precious - to be kept and looked after - as they hold a special link to the past, but in the contemporary use of digital technology these images are now viewed en masse on the computer screen. I want my work also to serve as a response to the importance of analogue photography and the keeping of photographs as objects rather than as a collection of pixels.
